. . . wondering how Derren does the things he does. The name for the handing-over-the-wallet thing he does is called “The Russian [. . . ]” and it’s brilliant, a very good example of face to face influencing and a bit of misdirection. If you are an NLP junkie, you will be tempted to start labeling what he does as NLP, but I invite you to take those goggles off while you are watching, and watch it for what he says it is. . . a bit of misdirection and showmanship.
