First there was Harry Potter, then there was Twilight.
Where can I find a list of popular book series before those?

    Popular series books in which particular category? In thriller books, I can mention Agatha Christie, Sexton Blake, James Hadley Chase, Arthur Conan Doyle, Perry Mason series etc.

    Depends what genre you’re looking at, and how far back A decent series of books in the 70s/80s was Terry Brook’s Sword of Shannara. However, if you’re particular to the Twilight style of writing, you might find it a difficult read
    Another good one was Goodkind’s Sword of Truth, but it began to drag on after Blood of the Fold.
    Dragon Riders of Pern was good, and so was Myth Adventures.
